Benediction: see greater things

Beloved, we have heard and trusted in
the good news of Jesus Christ.
Go now into the world to do and see still greater things,
to open heaven upon earth
and bear witness to eternal life today;
in the name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

We praise you, O God, for you have given yourself to us in Jesus Christ. You have fed us at the table of blessing. You have filled us to overflowing with good things. Receive our offering of gratitude and joy, in the name of the coming Christ. Amen.

Dedication: opportunity to give

God our strength, you give us so very much, and your blessings grow and multiply in our lives. You call us to share your gifts with others, and so we obey. We thank you for the opportunity to give, and we dedicate these offerings to your work in the world. We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Benediction: recognize Christ

We have heard and claimed God’s Good News in worship.
Now we go into the world to serve, to forgive,
to work for justice, and to give praise to God.
As we go, may we be filled with the Holy Spirit,
so we might recognize Jesus Christ in all people,
to the glory of God the Father,
now and forever. Amen.

illumination: heart of all things

O Lord, your Word sees to the heart of all things
and speaks the truth of your blessing into every life.
As we listen to these words of scripture,
may we hear your everlasting Word
calling us to share your healing and reconciliation with all people.
We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Dedication–consolation

Prayer of Dedication (based on 2 Cor. 1:3-11) – Narrative 5/22/16

Blessed are you, O God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! We give thanks for the blessings you have granted us, and we commit these offerings to your use. Receive them and bless them for the consolation of all who are in need, just as we have been consoled in Christ. Thanks be to God! Amen.

dedication: carrying grace

Gracious God,
we thank you for the gifts before us
and ask that you bless them that we might use them to be a blessing to others.
As we finish this journey of Advent,
care for us as you did your servant Mary,
that we might serve you as she did,
carrying God’s grace into the world.  Amen.

confession: blessing

Holy and merciful God,

in your presence we confess

our failure to be what you created us to be.

You created us to receive your blessing

and give your blessings to others,

but we act as if we would run out of your love

if we were to offer it to each other.

We imagine that we have your ways all figured out,

and so we reject or ignore those who see you differently.

We accumulate goods for ourselves,

forgetting that you intend for us to share and celebrate.

In your mercy, forgive us.

Name us as your people again,

and restore us to your favor,

in Jesus’ name.

Benediction: sacred

May sacred times free you for God’s service
May sacred places set you in God’s peace
May sacred objects anchor you for God’s presence
May sacred activities place you in God’s hands
May sacred people you challenge and comfort you in God’s grace.
May the sacred in your life increase
and be filled with the holy God
overflowing into the world,
For we are blessed to be a blessing.  Amen

dedication: overflowing with love

With joy and gratitude we come before you, Lord, bearing the gifts you have given us. Our hearts are full, our hands are lifted up, and we bring you all we have and all we are. May this offering be a blessing overflowing with love into your world. May we be a blessing, overflowing with love into your world. Amen.
