CTW: Trees of God

God calls us to be like trees, planted by the divine waters

A river that flows eternally with cool, sweet water

Soak up the Word of God and bask in the light of the Holy One

We let go of the evil that corrupts, and cling to the good that nourishes

Then, when the time is right, the fruit of the Spirit will be with us

And we praise God for the ripeness of life. Amen!

CTW: different roads

L: Our world offers many wide avenues
and beautiful boulevards to walk;
P: Our God invites us to walk the road
of service and sacrifice.
L: Our society suggests we put down our roots
in the shallow soil of pleasure and greed.
P: Our God seeks to plant us on the banks of hope,
watered by the rivers of joy and grace.
L: Our culture promotes achievement, success,
climbing to the top, ringing the bell.
P: Our God tells us if we want to be first
we need to go to the end of the line.

illumination: planted, nourished, sustained

Inspiring God,
plant us deep within your rich soil…
fill us with your nourishing, refreshing, life-giving water…
and shine your life-sustaining light of love upon us…
so that we may grow and go and be and do.
